Super Resources Acquired by Google

July 9, 2007 - that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Postini, a global leader in on-demand communications security and compliance solutions serving more than 35,000 businesses and 10 million users worldwide. Under the terms of the agreement, Google will acquire Postini for $625 million in cash, subject to working capital and other adjustments, and Postini will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Google.

April 14, 2007 - that it came to a definitive agreement to acquire DoubleClick for $3.1 billion in cash. The expected timing of the transaction is not certain. But Google and DoubleClick may not be able to close the transaction. Several companies, including Yahoo, AT&T and Microsoft, are encouraging regulators to examine the deal, and may file formal objections with regulators in the US or Europe to try to prevent the transaction.

July 2, 2007 - acquired voice communications management company GrandCentral on Monday; a move that it hopes will strengthen its service offerings. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, although some have pegged the purchase price at somewhere around $50 million. It is thought that GrandCentral's technology could eventually make its way into Google Talk.

June, 2007 – acquired Zenter (”a company that provides software for creating online slide presentations”) to help complete their upcoming Powerpoint/presentation application. The price wasn’t disclosed. Zenter was focusing on the front end of the application, as well as community/sharing features.

June 5, 2007 - acquired PeakStream, a startup company that provides a software development platform for multicore programming on high performance computing systems. No details were provided about the terms of the acquisition. Google's interest in PeakStream is not immediately apparent. Although the search engine giant maintains an enormous grid of commodity servers around the world, Google currently uses standard development platforms to develop and maintain its own software.

June 3, 2007 - FeedBurner was acquired by Google for a rumored price of $100 million. FeedBurner is news feed management provider launched in 2004. FeedBurner provides custom RSS feeds and management tools to bloggers, podcasters, and other web-based content publishers. June 1, 2007 - Google acquired Panoramio is a community photos website that enables digital photographers to geo-locate, store and organize their photographs -- and to view those photographs in google Earth. Other users can search and browse panoramio photos and suggest edits to the metadata associated with the photos. panoramio also offers an API that enables web developers to embed panoramio functionality into their websites.

May 11, 2007 – Google acquired security company GreenBorder Technologies. GreenBorder, the industry’s first Desktop DMZ software for Windows, keeps Internet invaders out and enterprise data in. It allows users to safely connect anywhere, go to any website, open any Internet email or attachment, and use any downloaded files without worry. GreenBorder’s unique, signature-less approach never needs updating and provides continuous protection against corruption, theft and invasion of business data systems.
